Trey McIntyre Project was founded by Trey McIntyre, John Michael Schert, and Anne Mueller in 2004. In July 2005, Trey McIntyre Project burst onto the national dance scene as a summer touring company with its debut at The Vail International Dance Festival. Trey McIntyre’s “fresh and forward-thinking choreography” (Washington Post) was a sensation with both critics and audiences. In the summers of 2006 and 2007, TMP premiered works created during residencies at White Oak Plantation touring to prestigious venues such as Jacob’s Pillow and Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.
Trey McIntyre Project became a full-time, year-round company headquartered in Boise, ID in early 2008. Year 1: 2008-09 marked TMP’s inaugural tour to 25 cities across the U.S. and abroad, made possible in part by the company’s national Board of Directors, patrons in over 40 states and support from organizations such as The MAP Fund, the National Endowment for the Arts, M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, Jerome Robbins Foundation, and the Idaho Commission on the Arts.
